Work as directed by vessel First A/E and or Chief EngineerMake up order lists of parts and materials required to maintain ships equipment.Perform Inventory Control using Computerized Maintenance Management System(NSE)Perform maintenance as required of NSMV's developed preventative Maintenance planStand Watch as needed when vessel is operating during Training Cruise and/or activation as a 3rd Assistant Engineer - MotorPerform duties as Ships Duty Engineer when assigned and operate all Hotel ServicesPerform mechanical and welding repairsActively participate in vessels SMSSupervise and instruct cadets during the academic year and Training Cruise.Other duties as assigned by the First A/E and Chief EngineerRequirements: Required Qualifications

Minimum Licenses of Third Assistant Motors Unlimited HP or higher3 years industry experience on Motor vesselsBachelor's Degree in a related discipline of EngineeringActive MMCSTCW certification with appropriate endorsements required by today's standardTWICPassportValid Drug CardExcellent interpersonal and problem solving skillsDesire to work in a student-oriented environmentDemonstrated effectiveness in classroom/professional instruction

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of the maritime industryWorking familiarization with Power Management systemsUpper level USCG Engineers license, and minimum 2 years sailing experienceAdditional Information:Classification/Salary Range: The Third Assistant Engineer is a UUP position. The anticipated salary range is $65,000.00 - $72,000.00 with an outstanding benefits package (for more information please see the Full-Time UUP Benefits Summary). Salary will commensurate with qualifications and experience. Review of applications to commence immediately and conclude when the position is filled.

Special Notes: This is a full-time calendar year appointment UUP Position. Fair Labor Standard Acts (FLSA) Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously.
