Job Description:Role Summary/Purpose:The VP, Leadership Communications will play a crucial role in supporting and executing Synchrony's executive communication strategy. Reporting to the SVP, Enterprise Employee Communications, this individual will develop and implement communication plans that support our key executives and leaders. This role is not just about crafting messages; it's about creating narratives that inspire, educate, and mobilize. It requires a skilled communicator who can craft compelling stories that inspire others to act, drive strategic objectives, increase business understanding, and positively promote Synchrony's business and culture. This individual will play an important role in supporting our Corporate Affairs team and our work to grow and protect Synchrony's reputation and brand while clearly and consistently sharing our value and building trust with key stakeholders. --The successful candidate will be an experienced communication professional with a strong track record of elevating leadership visibility and enhancing employee engagement through effective messaging and execution of communication initiatives. Equally, we're looking for an individual with demonstrated experience building relationships and partnering with wide-reaching, cross-functional stakeholders in service of developing connected content that aligns to enterprise priorities.Our Way of WorkingWe're proud to offer you choice and flexibility. Occasionally you may be required to commute to our nearest office for in person engagement activities such as business or team meetings, training and culture events.Essential Responsibilities:Strategic Storytelling:

  • Distill complex business goals into engaging narratives and stories that highlight impact and clear calls to action to key audiences.
  • Develop and execute strategic communication plans aligned with corporate priorities, leveraging innovative communications approaches and tools.Messaging, Content and Thought Leadership Development:
    • Elevate the voice and presence of key executives, crafting compelling content that advances objectives, increases business understanding, and promotes our culture, while ensuring alignment with Synchrony's brand and values.
    • Execute thought leadership initiatives, including drafting bylined articles, preparing content for speaking opportunities, and managing social media presence.
    • In support for key executive leaders, support the content planning and development for executive hosted all employee meetings, like Town Halls and Ask Us Anything sessions.Executive Communication Counsel & Support:
      • Offer communication counsel to executives, enhancing visibility and employee engagement, preparing them for high-priority speaking engagements
      • Collaborate with Public Relations, Strategic Communications, Enterprise Event Marketing and Investor Relations to support executive communications efforts.Leadership Communication Channels:
        • Optimize leadership communication channels for engaging, consistent messaging, manage employee engagement events, and maintain a leadership communication calendar in partnership with key stakeholders.Qualifications/Requirements:
          • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field. In lieu of a degree, HS Diploma/GED and 14 years of corporate communications experience.
          • 10+ years of experience in corporate communications, with a focus on leadership and executive communications.
          • Proven track record of developing and executing communication plans for senior leaders in large organizations.
          • Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt tone and style for various executives and audiences.
          • Experience managing multiple high-priority initiatives simultaneously.
          • Experience in change management communications and supporting cultural initiatives through strategic messaging.
          • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, content management systems, and digital communication platforms.Desired Characteristics:
            • Master's degree preferred.
            • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business strategies into compelling narratives.
            • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
            • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and influence at all levels of the organization.

            • Discretion and judgment in handling confidential and sensitive information.
            • Understanding of current trends in digital and social media communications.Grade/Level: 13-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------- The salary range for this position is 130,000.00 - 210,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.Eligibility Requirements:
              • You must be 18 years or older
              • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
              • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
              • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
