As a critical member of the Product organization, the Pay Later Product Manager is responsible for owning the customer need while developing and leading the product roadmap to achieve our customer, partner and business objectives. This includes being the customer, market and product subject matter expert, using data to find opportunities and gain alignment with the organization and key stakeholders, while leading the development of technology-driven, innovative solutions and enhancements. This Product Manager is comfortable with ambiguity, can operate in a fast moving, agile environment, is a team player that collaborates well cross functionally and acts as an owner, proactively taking initiative.Our Way of WorkingWe're proud to offer you choice and flexibility. Occasionally you may be required to commute to our nearest office for in person engagement activities such as business or team meetings, training and culture events.Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  • Manage, develop, and drive Synchrony's Pay Later product across all platforms. Drive the vision and roadmap of innovative new capabilities to keep the business as an industry leader in the space.
  • Partner with the various technology teams to drive efficiency and commercialization of the product across the franchise. This includes developing and promoting how this innovation is meeting the rapidly changing needs of our business, partners and customers by telling the story internally, with our partners and industry.
  • Lead planning meetings and provide advice and guidance on direction of product.
  • Responsible for understanding industry insights, consumer intel and market analysis, and benchmarking Synchrony's products against competition - coordinating and communicating findings across clients and platforms. Will require collaboration with customers, research and insights, team members, and outside influencers to ensure a solid and well-rounded understanding of products and developing needs.
  • Collaborate with Product Marketing on the marketing and positioning for your product.
  • Liaise with Business Development to ensure consumer products are appropriately represented in RFPs, that business cases are developed with the optimal product strategies, and to guide the new business implementation teams to ensure the product is built properly for new portfolios.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to identify gaps, product needs and growth opportunities, while partnering with key stakeholders to help prioritize efforts against other initiatives.
  • Proactively engage with Compliance and Legal to ensure adherence with all external and internal compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Own product enhancements from ideation to execution, including product specifications and requirements, wing-to-wing experience, testing and cost/benefit analysis. Lead cross-functional teams, in a matrixed environment, through project plans that include major milestones, critical risk indicators, measures of success and contingencies.
  • Coordinate efforts with other product managers to commercialize across Synchrony's platforms and portfolios. Drive product implementation, ensuring innovative solutions supporting business strategy.
  • Monitor and report on key metrics for the products to assess the success of the product and features and determine necessary enhancements.
  • Strong communication skillset and executive presence is key - Frequent meetings with Clients, Client teams and senior leadership.
  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assignedQualifications/Requirements:
    • Bachelor's Degree or, in lieu of a degree, a high school diploma and 10 years of marketing or product experience in the credit card or financial services industries
    • Minimum of 6 years marketing or product expertise that includes:
      • A proven track record of launching new products or applications with demonstrated business impact
      • Ability to influence and coordinate multi-functional teams
        • Effective verbal and written communication skills across functions and multiple levels of leadershipDesired Qualifications:
          • Credit card, consumer finance or financial services industry experience including the Buy Now Pay Later product.
          • Experience within installment loan marketplace and understanding of latest customer experiences, features, enhancements, news and trends in the space.
          • Demonstrated ability to manage complex initiatives and projects in a matrixed environment.
          • Outstanding communications, relationship building, influencing and collaboration skills.
          • Strategic thinking with ability to develop and implement actionable plans to drive business results.
          • 5+ years marketing or product innovation/management experience
          • 5+ years managing people and teams
          • Strong background working with clients, reporting on performance and delivering results.
          • Demonstrated project management skills.
          • Advanced problem-solving skills with the ability to develop innovative solutions in a fast-changing environment.
          • P&L experience with solid understanding of business financials
          • Current on financial services, payments industry trends, competitors, emerging technologies and companies
          • Strong technical knowledge (financial services)
          • Product commercialization experience, marketing and communications expertiseGrade/Level: 12------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The salary range for this position is 110,000.00 - 185,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.Eligibility Requirements:
            • You must be 18 years or older
            • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
            • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
            • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
