We empower refugees through culinary education at Emma's Torch, a nonprofit with cafes in Brooklyn and DC, and a catering operation expanding into Manhattan.The Catering Director leads catering sales and operations in NYC and DC, implementing sales strategies, expanding client base, and managing profitability. They oversee catering orders and events, ensuring staffing, inventory, and overall success.Key areas of responsibility:

• Sales and business development (30%):
  • Build and maintain client relationships, expanding our base to drive revenue growth.
  • Improve culinary offerings and operating procedures based on client feedback.
  • Manage catering booking software and client databases.
  • Stay up-to-date with NYC and DC catering and event markets.
  • Catering operations (50%):
    • Collaborate with the Culinary Director on menu development.
    • Confirm appropriate staffing, inventory, and resources for event success.
    • Execute events to industry and organizational standards.
    • Ensure accuracy and timely preparation of all catering orders.
    • Integrate student-staff into the catering process.
    • Develop catering SOPs.
    • Financial management (20%):
      • Track and report financial data and sales projections.
      • Maintain budget projections and goal setting.
