You will specialize in a particular subject area, but your input and impact will be sought and expected throughout the organization.About the team: Capital One's Card Decisioning team is responsible to enable our business to manage risk and drive business value across the customer lifecycle by providing real-time, accurate , secure and AI powered decision-making solutions for customer transactions, fraud detection, alerts, credit inquiries and applications across card, lending and banking products.In this role, you will work on our Decisioning Platform to provide hands on deep technical expertise . You will act as a bridge between developers and executive management . You will work with other Distinguished Engineers to detail out high level designs to help Software engineers with clarity to develop and engineer the products as envisioned . You will be responsible to help the teams with setting up the best in the industry engineering culture and developer experience . • Articulate and evangelize a bold technical vision for your domain

• Ensure the quality of technical design and implementation
• Serve as an authoritative expert on non-functional system characteristics, such as performance, scalability and operability

• Act as a role model and mentor within the tech community, helping to coach and strengthen the technical expertise and know-how of our engineering and product community
• Involved with products software development lifecycle to have a hands-on impactBasic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 10 years of experience as hands on full stack technologist -
  • At least 7 years of professional experience coding in commonly used languages like Java, Python, Go, JavaScript/TypeScript, Swift, etc.
  • At least 5 years of experience in software engineering, enterprise architecture, solution architecture or data architecture
  • At least 3 years of experience in cloud native technologies (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)Preferred Qualifications: - -
    • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related field
    • 10+ years of professional experience in the full lifecycle of system development, from conception through architecture, implementation, testing, deployment and production support
    • 10+ years of experience in designing large scale and resilient applications
    • 3+ years of experience with solutioning a large scale platform -

Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $274,800 - $313,600 for Distinguished EngineerCandidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
