Kenvue is recruiting for a Scientist in Skin Health and Beauty, Research & Development (R&D) - Product and Process Innovation team, located in Skillman, New Jersey.

What you will do
The R&D Skin Health and Beauty Scientist will lead new product launches and life cycle management for Skin Health and Beauty products, with a focus on the Acne category.
This person will be expected to develop and demonstrate expertise in product and process development. Working cross-functionally, they will be a key member working end-to-end to launch a product and maintain it through its life cycle.
Key Responsibilities:


  • Discovery, evaluation, and implementation of new ingredient technologies and product forms with insight for technical and practical feasibility.
  • Own the development of new Acne products with mentorship from their manager. Formulate products by incorporating consumer insights, Marketing and R&D feedback. Perform all formulation tasks including batching, stability monitoring, and system entries.
  • Develop ability to predict potential project obstacles and develop risk mitigation plans.
  • Develop scale-up plans of lab formulations to commercial size. Identify critical process parameters and develop process validation strategy.
  • Technical writing of specifications, development summary reports, and other documentation.
  • Interacting with and/or leading extended team to implement timely GMP batching, safety testing, claims testing and consumer testing when appropriate for new product introductions.
  • Ability to understand and translate trends in the product category.
  • Discover how to improve our products on points of uniqueness and differentiation to truly delight the consumer.

    Qualifications
    Education:
    A minimum of a Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred in Science or Engineering (Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, Pharmacy, or other Science/ Engineering fields).
    Experience And Skills:
    Required:

  • Bachelor's degree with 2-3 years of relevant work experience with Skin care and Beauty products.
  • Good technical foundation of formulated products including emulsions, surfactants, suspensions, pigments, and an understanding of material chemistry.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a team environment while being an individual contributor.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills as well as presentation skills.
  • Detail-oriented.

    Preferred:

    • Master's degree with 0-1 years of relevant work experience with Skin care and Beauty products.
    • Experience in process development/scale-up, technical transfer, process validation.
    • Familiarity with cGMP and other regulatory requirements.
    • Familiarity working with suppliers and manufacturing sites.
